  • I am an amateur grass roots owner/rider. Kingswood provided a wonderful venue for me to compete on Sunday. The outstanding and unique electronic services gave a National Championship feel. There were smiles all round by all who attended. The horses were aware of the Championship feel, provided by the music, the commentary, the flowers etc. which were super but all looked to be enjoying the occasion as much as the riders. Well done Rob, Nicky, Nicky and all the staff and helpers at Kingswood. Please, please BD may we have the Area Festival at Kingswood in 2010.
  • Really hope that Kingswood is the venue for 2010

    Thank You
  • You did a really wonderful job, very professional and really well organised. Was a great occasion!
  • Undoubtedly the best Area Festival we have attended which sets a very high standard for others to match. The speed of the scoring was a great success and we hope it will be repeated in the future.
  • The secretary was very kind to help me sort out a problem when she was very busy. Would be nice to have another warm up arena so times were not so late, but understand that is expensive and impractical. I had very good times but saturday was a long day. It would be nice to see other scores from previous tests, not just the current ones.

We will have a printer in the show office to print them off
  • Very friendly and efficient centre, look forward to coming back soon.
  • I Was very disappointed to find that things changed around the outside of the main arena after the w-up comp on thursday. It Meant my horse spooked again but this time at different things he had a huge problem with the live web cam on the hill & the shadows cast down the hill from the person(s) operating it. so i have now got to enter another area festival because of a poor score due to spooking which i had hoped would of been dealt with by doing the warm up as i did do the w-up to ensure the horse was settled & ok with the arena. Perhaps offer w-up comps on the day your competing?? Also i had to park in the field on Thursday with my lorry which was uncomfortable due to the big slopes on the field. Luckily i managed to get a space on hard standing on the Sat. Maybe limiting the field parking to Trailers only would help??

The Cameraman was not prepared to come for the warm up class so sorry about that but her was 15m away from the arena - this and the car at E was the only change from the warm up. Schedule would never permit us to offer a warm up on the day. We do have a sign requesting trailers park on the field, but sometimes this is ignored.
  • Very good arena presentation
  • My first area festival and a thoroughly happy experience even though I failed miserably to do myself or my horse justice!
  • Thanks for a great weekend thought you did a superb job. Only improvement i could suggest would be bigger access to arena especially at presentation times & also tarmac surface was slippy if horses were messing about entering arena.
  • I liked the background music for the test. The arena looked lovely; super boards and the flowers were thoughtfully placed so as not to spook. I'd come on 5th Sept and thought that by putting the arena the other way, you made it fair everyone; there was less advantage to having practiced the week before. The friendliness of all the staff is very important. I thought it was a pity to have so many entries for N22R in one class; shame BD didn't allow it to be split into two sections. But we really had a super day; thanks again!

Our schedule will take into account 2 classes in both the Novice restricted and Prelim should we be awarded the show again.
  • I loved the presentation it made it special for me as a competitor. All presentations should be mounted (unless there is a real problem for an individual horse) as it really feels like a championship. Brilliant day thanks to everyone at Kingswood for making it work so well
  • The efficient and speedy scoring system was one of the best I have come across - much appreciated when you have to yard full of horses waiting at home. There is nothing worse than being kept hanging around for hours waiting for scores.
  • could do with two arenas running tests

We would love this too - any offers!
  • We love coming to Kingswood. It is our favourite venue, everything is exceptionally efficient from the web site, online entries right down to the amazing cappuccinos!! If only all venues were this good
  • Not enough rosettes. What about a Kingswood or Petplan rosette for all competitors. Also at your "ordinary" shows, give rosettes to 4th at least. Safety in working in area not good. Too many horses and people not considerate meant I didn't work in properly.

Everyone who entered the competition received a Pet Plan plaque! Rosettes are awarded as per the BD stipulations. The indoor arena would never have had more than 6/7 people in it but yes, sometimes people are inconsiderate.
  • Many thanks to all involved, it was a truly amazing show, you all worked so hard and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the show. I hope you are recognised for the fact that it was by far and away the best venue for dressage in the country to date and made us all feel like we had achieved simply by competing at your venue. Many thanks Rob and Nicki for making many people happy! Justine
  • Area festivals are aimed at amateur riders, I appreciate that time is limited but I would have been unable to compete in Petplan classes at the higher levels as they took place on Friday and I have to work weekdays. The score boards I saw only showed current classes and if you missed the result of the class before there was no easy access. The used to roll round the results which gave competitors a chance to see the results in earlier classes. I enjoyed the show, the facilities and staff are great and always helpful even at the end of a very long day. Lighting on the outdoor arena could be better for warming up at night but car park and pathways well lit.

Scoreboard point is taken - we will modify procedure for future events. The current and previous class are always shown in the show office. Outdoor lighting is the most we can provide on our power supply. We may well floodlight the whole arena for evening performances next year using a generator. There aren't enough hours in the day to run all classes at the weekend!
  • Really enjoyed the whole show and the stay over. Staff as always were fab. Scoring was unbelievable!!! Sooo fast. Congratulations on a very successful first Area Festival.
  • Brill - Can't wait till 2010!!
  • Brilliant!
  • Super! brilliantly run, really enjoyed it!

  • Always very friendly and helpful. A nice small set up that takes trouble with everyone and as the weather was super it created a holiday atmosphere especially for the people I met who had stayed over night. I wish I had the time to do the same!

  • Very good indeed
  • Happy,Relaxed great atmosphere!
  • Due to an oversight there was a 5 hour gap between my times for N22 and MFSN. The secretary apologised when I declared, said I should have rung beforehand & she would have changed it and offered a day stable for my horse. Amazingly helpful and kind! Thanks. (I didn't ring to ask for a change of times because most places would just have told me to stop winging and put up with it).
  • Really good atmosphere. Friendly, well organised and ran like clockwork. Couldn't be better
  • Lovely atmosphere, helped by lovely weather. Very slick operation.

  • Good atmosphere sunshine helped
  • Kingswood always provides the professional standards required of a BD Venue. What it has in addition to other venues is a warm welcoming atmosphere achieved by its exceptionally efficient, friendly and helpful staff. First rate.
  • Fabulous!!
  • kingswood has exceptional facilities, esp. surfaces. The area festival gave it a chance to show what it is truly capable of producing as a high end show facility from all aspects. Well done all concerned.
  • Although your surfaces are fantastic you need two test arenas to run a championship this size. If entries were as large as at other area festivals I have been to you would have struggled. Also my time was changed to one hour earlier without any explanation. The scoring was very quick but the screens don't tell the whole story i.e. people eliminated or withdrawing. I think your on line entry system is brilliant.

Our entries were actually higher than any area festival last year, in most cases by quite some margin. I am delighted that the professionalism and organisation of the event meant you did not realise this. I am not sure how knowing who is eliminated or withdraws is relevent to the show - it only takes up screen real estate which we can best use to show scores and hence why we simply delete them from the screens. Your time was changed as we had mistakenly started the show at 09:00 and 08:00 as we had originally planned, this was our error and I apologise for this.
